Research Technician – 38 hours p/w

Back to jobs

Job description
Our research is focused on the mechanisms that maintain the integrity of our genome, which is crucial to prevent genetic diseases such as cancer. Specifically, we study processes that promote faithful replication of our genetic material and pathways that repair damage in our DNA. To study these mechanisms, we use a powerful biochemical system based on extracts of the eggs of the Xenopus laevis frog. This system allows us to identify novel genome maintenance pathways and study their molecular mechanisms in detail. The successful candidate will support lab organization but will also take active part in the research. Therefore, we look for an organized and motivated person who likes to work together with colleagues in an ambitious environment.

Requirements
Applicants should have a higher education degree (HLO) and experience in molecular research (biochemistry/molecular biology). Qualification to work with animals (article 13f.2) is an advantage.

Final application date is February 15th 2025 but suitable candidates might be invited prior to this date. For additional information please contact
prof. dr. Puck Knipscheer (p.knipscheer@hubrecht.eu) or visit the website www.hubrecht.eu.
