Hubrecht Symposia

Hubrecht Symposia are yearly one-day events to bring together scientists focussing on a specific topic in molecular and developmental biology, emphasizing the importance of fundamental research for Dutch science. The first Hubrecht Symposium will cover the topic “Developmental Biology” and will take place in 2025.

Embryonic development requires the tight regulation of cell fate decisions and morphogenesis in time and space to ensure the formation of a proper organism. These regulatory processes lay the foundation for the maintenance and regeneration of adult tissues throughout life. At the first Hubrecht Symposium we will explore how genetic and epigenetic mechanisms and evolutionary insights from diverse model systems contribute to our understanding of development and tissue dynamics. From embryogenesis to adult stem cell maintenance, this meeting will highlight the complex and interconnected pathways that govern life’s fundamental processes across different contexts and scales.
