The Hubrecht Institute launches its new modern and responsive website. As head of communications Daniël Kusse describes: “For an institute like the Hubrecht, it is an absolute necessity to have a modern website. It is often difficult to explain the work that is being done here, a good website helps to tell the story”. The launch of the new website is just the beginning of on ongoing process to optimise the primary communication channel of the Hubrecht Institute. The Hubrecht Institute wants to interacts more with society about its research. Therefore, in January 2016, a 2.0 version of the new website will be launched with a special area for communication on stem cells and science. This “Hubrecht & Society” area will contain education modules, a stem cell library and a virtual tour through the new building. To develop the new website, the Hubrecht Institute worked together with internet company Liberta, which led to a great result. As CEO of Liberta, Emrah Lacin, describes: “There is nothing important that can not be made interesting” “Our team always enjoys working on projects like the new website for the Hubrecht Institute. For an institute like the Hubrecht it’s important to make research accessible and interesting for everyone, that is what we truly love doing.” Maintenance and hosting The Hubrecht Institute is constantly aiming to improve its website. For this, the institute has teamed up with Stuurlui , a company that is responsible for hosting and maintenance of the website.
