21 September 2016 Hubrecht Institute and UMC Utrecht continue affiliation Back to news September 21, 2016 The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts & Sciences (KNAW) and the University Medical Center Utrecht sign the renewal of their cooperation agreement today and thereby ratify the collaboration between the Hubrecht Institute and the UMC Utrecht. The research institute and the hospital have been working together since 2008 and now prolong their affiliation indefinitely. Picture: Elroy Heijgen The Hubrecht Institute, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts & Sciences, celebrates its 100 year anniversary this year. Starting as a repository for the collection of Ambrosius Hubrecht, the institute has become a global player in the field of basic research in stem cells and developmental biology over the last century. An important boost in this development is the cooperation that the Hubrecht Institute has with the UMC Utrecht since 2008.
