7 November 2017 Hans Clevers receives Princess Takamatsu Award of Merit Back to news Hans Clevers received the Award of Merit from the Princess Takamatsu Cancer Research Fund because of his research on organoids as a model for disease. The Princess Takamatsu Cancer Research Fund Prizes are awarded every year to scientists who have made outstanding contributions to fundamental and clinical research on cancer. The Award of Merit was established in 1981 and is awarded to a non-Japanese scientist, who is invited to give three lectures for an audience of young scientists and students. Prof. dr. Hans Clevers is group leader at the Hubrecht Institute (KNAW), Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University Medical Center Utrecht and Utrecht University and Scientific Director of the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology.
