26 June 2017 Hans Clevers member of French Académie des Sciences Back to news We are proud to announce that prof. dr. Hans Clevers was elected to join the French Académie des Sciences as a Foreign Associate. He was inaugurated on the 20th of June. The Académie des Sciences is a society of scientists that was founded in 1666 by Louis XIV, making it one of the oldest scientific societies. During the age of Enlightenment, the Académie had an important role in the development of science in Europe. The key pillars of the Académie are the scientific community, science teaching, transmitting knowledge, international collaboration and expertise & advise. Prof. dr. Hans Clevers is group leader at the Hubrecht Institute (KNAW), Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University Medical Center Utrecht and Utrecht University and Scientific Director of the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology.
